In 2021, I was invited to be part of the SC Parks Artist In Residence (AIR) program. That spring I spent a very fun and productive week at Hickory Knob State Park and Resort. Getting up before dawn and staying out past sunset allowed me to explore the park’s trails and lovely golf course.

For 2022, I was chosen for Poinsett State Park. I was very excited to go there in the fall, since it’s a park I have camped in many times over the past few years. The great part of the AIR program is having seven days to explore a park and and try new ways to express my art. During my time I looked for more impressionistic photos as well as experimenting with intentional camera movement (ICM).
