Since 1986, Aiken has been designated a Tree City USA, because of its commitment to urban forestry management. And as people walk around Downtown Aiken and the surrounding streets — like Colleton Avenue — they notice all the different trees. I will often take some time to wonder around and appreciate all the greenery and other colors that help give Aiken its unique and beautiful look.
